Since 2021, Color the Water has partnered with WLCAC through their GRYD and Outdoor Equity program, supporting over 50 youth surfers in Watts. CTW is a non-profit, offering free surf lessons and media for all BIPOC, while educating communities about surf history from a decolonized perspective.

Four years into this mission to promote ocean equity, the California Coastal Conservancy is now sponsoring a mural to continue inspiring the Watts community to surf and access the beach. The mural will be on the side of WLCAC’s building, 1257 E 109th Street Los Angeles, CA 90059.
